2016: Thank You, Vancouver!

Vancouver, we were blown away by your dedication and the passion you have demonstrated year after year that brought us to an incredible fifth year anniversary of Dîner en Blanc Vancouver. 6000 people descended on Concord Pacific Place on Thursday, August 18, 2016 and created the largest and most spectacular dining environment in Canada! The annals will describe it as sensational and Vancouver will more than ever become synonymous with Dîner en Blanc!
We always desire to make Diner en Blanc in Vancouver a greater spectacle than before. Hundreds of hours are put into the event by artists, visionaries, partners and producers. But despite that, it is you, and the tremendous amount of effort and time put forth by each participant that made this experience so wonderful. Unparalleled is the sight of the flood of white rushing, spiralling, and pirouetting into the venue. Witnessing the beauty, glamour, and avant garde in costume and dress, while seemingly impromptu creations of amazing tablescapes pop up like the most enchanting picture book; your innovation, hard work, and passion elevate the Dîner experience like never before.
Inasmuch as we could dedicate an entire editorial to expressing our thanks, these limited words of gratitude will have to suffice for now. Our ambition is to have created an event unique within it’s own genre that will mark a favorite memory across the year and inspire you to return next year with even brighter and more amazing ideas. As we continue to improve, it is your continued contribution that will keep the magic of Dîner en Blanc so special and unique.
As Hosts, we would also like to thank a number of others who helped co-create with us this year.
First and foremost, a massive thank you to Concord Pacific for allowing us the use of their perfect home which allowed us to light up Vancouver in the shadow of the iconic BC Place and across from the mesmerizing Science World and Olympic Village. Your showroom was a beautiful backdrop to the event and generosity unparalleled in allowing such access to your venue. National Bank as a key and passionate sponsor, we thank you for your audacity and willingness to support our ambitions and bring Diner en Blanc to the next level this year. We are honoured to thank Evian for their contributions and complementary water that they have yet again provided us so that we can enjoy Diner en Blanc in the sensational summer heat. And, as always, a deserved thanks to our wonderful partner, the Alliance Francaise, who help to keep the spirit of France in Vancouver and especially at Diner en Blanc.
We’d like to show warm gratitude to the tenacious team at Cocktails & Canapes, who managed to cater thousands of meals, acclaimed to be among our best yet! The cuisine was a clear highlight! Also our wine partner Icon for providing us an amazing choice of red and white wines, as well as a first-time Rose, and Charton Hobbs for typically splendid champagne and sparkling wine options.
Big thank yous, as well, go out to our activation partners: Indochino, Ferrari and Maserati of Vancouver, Mogo, Bo Concept, and Evo. Without all of your dedication and commitment as sponsors of Dîner en Blanc Vancouver, we could never undertake such a massive feat of culture.
This year we worked with an unprecedented 140 different leaders and being such an instrumental part of the event we owe countless thanks to all our Table Leaders, including many first time leaders, and large volunteer team: a collection of the most amazing people. Thank you so very much.
